The Best Flannel Sheets That Won’t Make Getting Out of Bed Any Easier This Season
So soft and warm, you’ll (almost) look forward to a long winter.

Flannel has come a long way from the stuffy, stiff sheets you were tucked into as a kid. While you may enjoy snuggling up in warm winter PJs and keeping toasty beneath a heated blanket, investing in a high-quality set of flannel sheets is the best way to make a cozy night in even better.
These flannel sheet sets look and feel simply irresistible, and best of all, they are available for nearly any budget.

What to Consider
Material weight
Flannel purists already know that the specs are everything. Many flannel makers will list their sheets' weight in ounces or grams per square meter (GSM). If you're looking for a heavy, winter-weight set, look for a set that's at least 170 GSM or 5 ounces. This indicates that the material has a tight, thick weave. Lighter-weight sets may be more breathable but prone to pilling after numerous washes.
However, there are exceptions to this. Some brands (perhaps assuming that their customers are unfamiliar with material weight) list the material's thread count instead — or they leave out this spec entirely. We've denoted information on weight or thread count in this guide where available, so you have an idea of how much thickness to expect in your sheets.
Manufacturing location
Many brands denote that their products are made in Portugal. This is because Portugal is home to some of the largest and most esteemed flannel manufacturers. Many brands that have invested in this type of heritage craftsmanship list that their products are 100% cotton flannel and Portuguese-made (even if the cotton itself is sourced from elsewhere).
Certifications and price
When shopping for cotton bedding of any type, it's also a good idea to check if the sheets are OEKO-TEX- or GOTS-certified, which ensures their nontoxic, clean construction in an ethically run facility. However, we know that price is an important factor for many consumers, so we've included sheets in this guide that are more affordable but don’t tick all of the aforementioned boxes. While you may not be getting the purest flannel product, the sheets themselves will still have a warm and inviting feel.
These flannel sheet sets come in plenty of sizes, weights, and colors to ensure your bed is as cozy as can be. Here are the seven best flannel sheet sets that provide impeccable softness and unparalleled warmth, just in time for winter.
