30+ Nintendo Switch Accessories Every Gamer Could Use
Make the most of your Switch with some of these gamer-approved accessories!

The Nintendo Switch is arguably the most versatile game console to date. Not only can you play curled up on the couch using your TV, you can take it anywhere to game on the go. Luckily, the Nintendo Switch offers a rich selection of original and third-party accessories. From a new case to a spare set of Joy-Con controllers, we've rounded up more than 35 of our favorite picks. Here's what accessories we use to make the most of our Switch (and Switch Lite) consoles.
The Arctis 1 Wireless gaming headset is lightweight, comfortable, and relatively portable. Plus, it’s nice-looking and quite affordable. Better yet, it’s one of the few headsets that stream lag-free audio to the Switch.
Pretty much every other headset for the Switch is wired. This one comes with a handy USB-C receiver that, when plugged into the bottom of your console, can stream audio wirelessly to your ears. It also works with voice chatting!
PowerA Joy-Con & Pro Controller Charging Dock

PowerA Joy-Con & Pro Controller Charging Dock
Compared to most other Nintendo Switch Joy-Con stands, this charging dock charges two Joy-Con and your Pro Controller (the others only charge four Joy-Cons). You may want to pick up both, depending on how many controllers you have!
This one is equipped with two LEDs that illuminate red when your controllers are juicing up. They'll turn green when everything is fully charged.
8Bitdo Sn30 Pro+ Controller

8Bitdo Sn30 Pro+ Controller
If you're longing for a D-pad to play retro NES and SNES titles, 8Bitdo's Sn30 Pro has your back. This controller is lighter and offers longer handles than the official Pro Controller, but it still feels solid and is comfortable to use.
We appreciate its rechargeable battery and are happy to report that it supports motion controls and vibration — a rarity among third-party controllers. If you don't want to spend as much, consider the less-grippy SN30 Pro instead!
Nintendo Switch Online 12-Month Individual Membership

Nintendo Switch Online 12-Month Individual Membership
In order to play games like Tetris 99, Splatoon 2, or Super Smash Bros. Ultimate online against others, you have to pay a monthly or annual fee to Nintendo Switch Online. Priced at just $20 a year, Nintendo Switch Online is a third of the price that Nintendo’s competitors charge.
Nintendo Switch Online members can enjoy classic NES games on their Nintendo Switch. You can face off against friends in online multiplayer play, or team up with them. Nintendo Switch Online also enables cloud saves, which are an absolute must if you’re worried about losing saved game data.
Nintendo also sells an annual family membership for around $35.
If you're not careful, you can easily scratch your Nintendo Switch's screen when you dock it to charge or play games on your TV. This adorable, handmade accessory will protect your Switch while customizing your console in the process. Its made from premium microfiber fabric and cotton so it doubles as a screen cleaning cloth, too!
If you're not a Zelda fan, check out other designs here!
Anker PowerPort with 1 PD and 4 PIQ

Anker PowerPort with 1 PD and 4 PIQ
This powerful charger from Anker is capable of simultaneously charging your Nintendo Switch, a Pro Controller, and your smartphone at full speed — with two ports to spare!
It has five ports in total (one USB-C PD port for fast charging and four PowerIQ ports that boast charging speeds up to 2.4A per port), plus a power cord that's 5 feet long.
Nintendo Switch Lite Carry Case + Screen Protector

Nintendo Switch Lite Carry Case + Screen Protector
Nintendo Switch Lite owners looking to keep their console scratch-and scuff-free definitely need to purchase a case. This official case from Nintendo includes a screen protector to keep your screen looking pristine. It is completely form-fitting and won't take up too much space in your bag. It even has a small flap on its inside for storing eight games.
If you want a cheaper option, we recommend this case from Coback.
HORI Nintendo Switch Split Pad Pro Controller

HORI Nintendo Switch Split Pad Pro Controller
For those in search of a pair of controllers that offer more substance and better ergonomics than the Nintendo Switch's Joy-Cons, look no further. The Split Pad Pro slides right where your Joy-Cons normally go, but its wider form factor is much more suitable for larger hands.
Unfortunately, the controller doesn't have an internal battery, so it causes slight battery drain of your console. It also lacks motion controls, vibration, and NFC for scanning amiibos. What it does offer is unrivaled comfort, less hand cramps, and improved analog sticks.
There's even turbo functionality and customizable buttons on the back, which will come in handy for action games like Daemon X Machina.
If you're addicted to Super Mario Maker 2 you absolutely need this stylus. It'll definitely come in handy when you're crafting new levels. We don't know why Nintendo has never released an official one in the U.S., but at least this one costs less than 10 bucks!
Also available for the Nintendo Switch Lite
This screen protector is crystal clear, scratch-resistant, and affordable. During our tests, we found that the amFilm screen protector was easy to install, and we didn't have to deal with any air bubbles, either. Fingerprints wipe right off, and it doesn't cause a glare on your screen.
Best of all, you get two of them with your purchase! It even includes a handy guide and all the tools you need to apply it.
The Orzly case is an excellent budget case for your Nintendo Switch Lite. It stows up to eight games along with a handful of accessories. The case doubles as a stand and is available in nine color configurations.
PowerA Enhanced Wireless Controller

PowerA Enhanced Wireless Controller
When you buy multiplayer-focused games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate you'll definitely want an extra controller or two on hand for your friends. If not they'll be stuck playing with the teensy tiny Joy-Con that comes with your Switch. We recommend this affordable wireless controller, if you don't want to drop $70 for Nintendo's own Pro Controller.
It may not feel as premium as the Pro Controller, but it still is comfortable and easy to pair. Our only complaint is that it isn't rechargeable. It's powered by two AA batteries, instead.
It's worth noting that Hori makes a wireless rechargeable Switch controller — however, it costs $50. We think if you're spending that much, you might as well just spend a little bit more for the Pro controller.
Power A Nintendo Switch Hybrid Cover

Power A Nintendo Switch Hybrid Cover
If you don't want to lug your Switch in a hard carrying case that takes up a ton of room in your backpack, consider this protective cover from Power A. It's thin and not as bulky as most other carrying cases, but it still gives your console some protection from getting scuffed up in your backpack. It has a magnetic design, and it even comes with a screen protector.
This officially licensed car charger is an absolute must if you plan to take your Nintendo Switch on a road trip. It has a lengthy 6-foot cable to plug in and play anywhere throughout your vehicle.
The Switch only has a 3-hour battery life, and if you don't want to lug around a portable battery, this cable will ensure you’re never greeted by a low-battery warning.
Another convenient car accessory for the Switch is this headrest mount that clasps to the arms underneath your vehicle's adjustable headrest. It keeps your Switch secure and easily in view during those long road trips. It even comes in black, red, or white to perfectly match your car's interior.
The stand will even work with your smartphone or small tablet. We were glad to see that it doesn't block the Switch's charging port, either.
PowerA Wireless GameCube Style Controller

PowerA Wireless GameCube Style Controller
Although this controller doesn’t feel as heavy as the original GameCube’s controller, the shape and look of it are nearly identical, and it is still comfortable to hold. This controller lacks vibration and there’s no NFC chip for reading Amiibo, either. Although we would have liked to see a rechargeable battery, this one is powered by two AAs (which are included), but we’re still thankful that it’s completely wireless.
It pairs to your Switch instantly, is a near-perfect GameCube controller replica, and isn’t too expensive.
Even though the Switch has a built-in battery that allows you to use it anywhere, sometimes you'll want to play on the big screen.
We recommend this carrying case for traveling with your Switch system and its dock. It'll keep everything snug and protected, because it has specific compartments for your console, dock, power adapter, Joy-Con, and Pro Controller.
This Pokedex-style game card case is the ultimate accessory for Pokémon fans. It makes it easy to store six game cards. We love that it's made of metal, rather than plastic, and its form-fitting foam slots will protect all your favorite games from damage.
Whether you're always losing your games, or you're an aspiring Pokémon trainer, this accessory will definitely come in handy.
The possibilities are endless with this Switch stand. You can clip it to your bed frame, a desk, your child's carseat, a chair — you name it. Its clamp grips onto surfaces up to 3 inches thick, and the stand's aluminum arm is sturdy but flexible.
The stand works with devices that have a 4- to 10-inch-sized screen, making it a great option for the Switch or a standard size iPad. If you want to play Zelda in bed while laying down flat, this stand has your back!
8Bitdo Wireless Bluetooth Adapter

8Bitdo Wireless Bluetooth Adapter
This nifty USB adapter lets you wirelessly connect a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One controller to use it with your Nintendo Switch, so instead of shelling out $70 for a Pro Controller from Nintendo, you can make use of your existing controller.
PC gamers can also use the adapter to pair their controllers to their gaming PC. You can find a full list of supported controllers here.
